Summer Writing

Throughout the year my students have a wonderful friend named Little Buddy that they get to take home and then write about in a Little Buddy Journal. They love to write all about their adventures with him and more importantly they are able to practice their writing skills while they're doing it. I have made a summer journal that your child can keep and write in throughout the summer.
You can buy Little Buddy at the Dollar Tree for, you guessed it, $1. He looks like this but is a little smaller:
Let your child take him everywhere and then write about their adventures in their Summer Journal with Little Buddy. You can print as many blank journal pages as you want for your child to write on. Let them have fun and practice their writing at the same time! I hope your child enjoys Little Buddy as much as my students have (:

It's the end of the year!!!!!

Can you believe we have made it? I know many of you are already out... and many of you still have a few more weeks... However, for us, the 5 day countdown is on!!!!

The next few days will be filled with cleaning up, taking down, putting away, and organizing... and remembering -- as items around the room disappear, the kids will be full of "Remember when we (insert favorite Kindergarten or First Grade moment here!)!!"

So... Enjoy the last few days of your school year!! And remember to have fun!! Soon - the summer fun will begin!!!

Teacher Gifts

This week sure has been busy with wedding showers. We have three teachers getting married over the summer and I am on a very tight budget. To make matters worse, all of the showers were within three days of each other! This required some creative ingenuity. I made this cool name sign with the music teacher's new married name. I also gave her a silver picture stand to put it on. You could also hang it up on a hook (:

Sports Day! (Field Day)

Hooray for the eve of Sports Day! Sports Day or Field Day in some places, is my favorite day of the year. I love to be outside playing, having fun, and being active. We have bounce houses, water games, class sports, indoor games, face painting, food, snowballs, and tug of war! What more fun could a person ask for? To make it even better, the students who have not earned 4 or more of their monthly incentives (for not so great behavior reasons) are not allowed to participate. This makes Sports Day AWESOME! After a day of fun, the younger students (Pre-K to 2) get to cool off in the classroom with a drink and a snack and watch a movie. After that, what better way to wrap it all up than with a reflection of their favorite part of the day. I love to see their favorite events and they love to share them with the class! There is a FREE sheet for Field Day and Sports Day (depending on what your school calls it). Enjoy and have fun!

Crabby Math

Our crazy princess selves work in the land of crabs, better known as Crisfield, MD. Here we live, breath, eat, and sleep with crabs. As the year comes to a close, our Kindergarten and First Grade students can never get enough addition practice. We decided to make some simple math worksheets as well as a doubles math sheet and a more challenging doubles, doubles plus one, and make-ten worksheet. Get all of them for free down below. We hope your students aren't being crabby!

Last Day of School

The year is quickly coming to an end and to every teacher those words are music to our ears. It is always fun to see our students grow and change through self portraits. We saw several things for the first day of school but not much for the last day of school. Here is a cute last day of school memento for your kiddos to take home after a long year!

There is one for Pre-K, Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade.

We Love Our Moms

This week we made Mother's Day gifts for our moms. I used card stock to put the Mother's Day frame on one side and the thumbprint picture on the other. My students loved drawing a picture of their mom and placing their thumprint on the back. I let them dry and then laminated them. Here are what some of them looked like:
I love the drawings (:
